No Plants, No Problem!

Updated: Apr 25, 2021

While we are waiting to get plants for pollinators, Jared (with help from Levi) made a really simple butterfly feeder to go out in the meantime.

I think it’s a great wee activity for the kids to do; and it’s been exciting for Jared seeing a bee come close or to know a wasp has came for a guzzle.

I’m hoping as the weather gets warmer and more butterflies are around in the surrounding gardens ; we will get a few visits .

It’s so simple to make, if you want to give it a try you can download the activity sheet below at the Wildlife Watch Website.

You will also find a great collection of other nature inspired activities to try - for one of them Mummy will be sharing her red wine with the moths - yea really!

He was really proud of himself!
“I’m hoping a bee and a butterfly come , actually all the animals that can fly”- Jared

In other news; Jared & Daddy spotted their first butterflies in Castlemilk park at the weekend. A Comma (Left/Above) & a Peacock (Right/Below). They also spotted an Orange-tip - but it wasn‘t sticking around for a photo!
